Trinity Church Art Exhibition

The Trinity Church Art Exhibition first began in 2000, the Minister at the time was Rev. Adelaide Wheeler-Cocks.

Rev. Adelaide was a professional artist before she became a minister.

She arrived at Trinity just after the fire (which occurred in 1998).

When the church reopened and all was back to normal she realised that the schoolroom had the potential to become an art gallery and so began searching throughout the Llanelli/Carmarthen Methodist Circuit to see if there were any amateur artists interested in exhibiting their paintings.

Many artists came forward, plus a few local artists.

The original reason for holding these exhibitions was:

  1. To show the God-given talents of the artists.
  2. To give budding artists the opportunity and the venue to exhibit (and eventually sell) their artwork.
  3. Revenue for the church

The exhibition has developed greatly over the last 24 years into what you see today.

Thanks to Rev. Adelaide  for the original idea, and thanks to all the various church members who have undertaken the organisation of said exhibition and special thanks to all church members and friends who have freely given of their time to serve the public on exhibition days.
